In honor of Chhath Puja, a special Vande Bharat Express service is being introduced for Bihar. The Railway authorities have scheduled a total of six journeys for this train. The train will make stops at key stations including Kanpur Central, Prayagraj, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Buxar, and Arrah.
New Delhi: In celebration of Chhath Puja, the Indian Railways has made arrangements to operate special trips of Rajdhani and Vande Bharat trains between Delhi and Patna. The Rajdhani Express will offer a total of 8 trips, while the Vande Bharat will complete 6 rounds. As per the latest information, the Railways has already issued orders for the operation of 52 special trains for Chhath Puja. This will potentially facilitate the travel of around 10 lakh passengers through a total of 522 trips. The Northern Railway, in light of the expected passenger rush during the Chhath Puja, has decided to introduce these special train services, including the Rajdhani Express and Vande Bharat. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced that during the festive season, these special trains will collectively make a total of 4,480 trips.
The Indian Railways had previously announced its plans to operate 283 special trains during Diwali and six other festive occasions. According to reliable railway sources, the special Rajdhani train, numbered 02250/02249, will undertake a total of 8 journeys between New Delhi and Patna Junction. This train will depart from New Delhi on the 10th, 13th, 15th, and 17th of November. Similarly, it will set off from Patna for New Delhi on the 11th, 14th, 16th, and 18th of November. The train will consist of a total of 22 coaches.
In addition, for the convenience of railway passengers, the Railways has also scheduled the operation of a Vande Bharat Festival Special train between New Delhi and Patna Junction. This special train, numbered 02252/02251, will complete 6 journeys along the 994-kilometer route from New Delhi to Patna, with a travel time of 12 hours. Booking for this special Vande Bharat train commenced on October 31, 2023.
Here are the details of the fares for this train:
- The train will depart from New Delhi at 7:25 am on the 11th, 14th, and 16th of November, arriving in Patna at 7:00 pm on the same day.
- In return, the train will leave from Patna Junction at 7:30 am on the 12th, 15th, and 17th of November, reaching New Delhi at 7:00 pm on the same day.
- The train has scheduled stoppages at Kanpur Central, Prayagraj, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Buxar, and Ara stations.
- The fare for the SC chair car coach from New Delhi to Patna will be Rs 2355, while the fare for the AC executive chair car will be Rs 4410.
