Lokpal Orders CBI Probe into Corruption Allegations Against Mahua Moitra: BJP MP
The anti-corruption body Lokpal has initiated a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the corruption allegations leveled against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, as revealed by BJP’s Nishikant Dubey in a recent X, formerly Twitter, post.
In his tweet, Mr. Dubey stated, “On the basis of my complaint, Lokpal has ordered a CBI probe into Mahua Moitra’s corruption that compromises national security.”
Mr. Dubey’s allegations assert that Ms. Moitra received cash from businessman Darshan Hiranandani to pose questions in parliament on his behalf, with the intention of targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and business competitor, the Adani Group.
He further contended that Ms. Moitra’s act of sharing her parliamentary login with the businessman had compromised national security.
In a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, he had demanded her immediate suspension from parliament.
