Karnataka Govt Official’s Driver Arrested for Shocking Murder!

Prathima KS, 45, who worked in the Mines and Geology Department, was found stabbed to death at her residence in the city’s Subramanyapora area.

Bengaluru Police have apprehended a government driver, Kiran, in connection with the murder of Prathima KS, a senior geologist working for the Karnataka government. Prathima KS was discovered dead at her residence in Subramanyapora, Bengaluru. According to Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayanand, “One suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the murder case. He was working as a driver and he was removed from the work, probably seven to 10 days earlier.”

Sources have revealed that the driver, who had been an on-contract government employee for five years, has admitted to the crime. He stated that he committed the murder because he was terminated from his position. The accused driver, identified as Kiran, reportedly fled to Chamarajanagar, which is approximately 200 km away from Bengaluru. Prathima, aged 45, was fatally stabbed, while her husband and son were in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district, located 300 km from Bengaluru.

The murder – Ms Prathima’s body was found with the throat slit – was discovered around 8.30 am Sunday after her brother informed the police. Preliminary inquiries reveal she was in office till 6 pm on Saturday, after which she was dropped at her home by the driver hired to replace Kiran.

This was around 8 pm, according to police.
